Catherine Steiner-Adair to Present The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in the Digital Age.

Greensboro Day School will host Catherine Steiner-Adair on April 26 as the McLendon Society Speaker. Dr. Steiner-Adair will help parents understand the ways in which technology and media are putting children at risk at each stage of development, from infancy through young adulthood, and challenging what it means to be a family.

Drawing on real life stories from her clinical work with children and families and her consulting work with educators and experts across the Country, Dr. Steiner-Adair offers insights and advice that can help parents achieve greater understanding, authority and confidence as they come up against the tech revolution that is unfolding in their living room.

The audience will learn the skills to distinguish between educational, healthy and unhealthy use, and practical strategies for nourishing deep attention, creativity, empathy and meaningful relationships.

Make plans to join us on Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in the Sloan Theatre for this insightful speaker. This event is open to the public and admission is free.

MS Director Letter: February 17
Posted 02/17/2017 10:00AM

Good Day Middle School Parents,

Earlier this week 8th graders Kristen Beane, Marion Dewey, Jackson McGeachy, Mia Neal, Abigail Samet, and Brianna Thompson, shared speeches which they had prepared for their English class, with our middle school students. The speeches focused on leadership, based on their reading of the book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. We found the speeches to be thought provoking and so well done, that we wanted to share them with you. Please use this link to view these presentations.

“The world is never saved by grand gestures, but by the accumulation of gentle, soft, almost invisible acts of compassion every day.”Chris Abani
