GDS’s longtime Annual Fund Director Terri Blackwood Jackson has accepted a position as the Director of Development for the UNCG School of Education. Under Terri’s 14-year leadership, the GDS Annual Fund has grown from $350,000 to over $800,000, and the number of alumni giving to the annual fund has more than doubled. While Terri increased emphasis on the importance of leadership giving (gifts of $1,000 or more), the priority of her Annual Fund campaigns has been to recognize and steward gifts to GDS at all levels. The concept of “Annual Fund First” was also a hallmark of her tenure. She will assume her position at UNCG on August 20. Terri’s daughters are GDS alumnae Katherine Obermeyer ’07 and Elizabeth Obermeyer ’11.
Terri has been a valuable and hardworking member of the GDS advancement department and administrative team. Director of Advancement Anne Hurd will lead both annual and capital campaigns until a replacement is named.
