Parents' Assocation
At GDS, all of our parents are automatically members of the Parents' Association. Our parents are an integral part of the GDS community. They volunteer their time and their expertise as well as their service in all areas of campus—and the opportunities to get involved through our Parents’ Association are limitless.
Parents' Association events/involvement include:
- Green & Gold Day Carnival
- Bengal Paws for Service Day
- Bengal Dash
- Innisbrook Gift Wrap Sale
- Advisory Committees
- Faculty Appreciation
- Classroom Volunteers
- and more!
Parent Education
Lower School: A variety of "Lunch & Learns" are held throughout the year. Topics have included: AD/HD, Math Facts, Music in the Classroom, Nutrition and more.
Middle School: The middle school years are a time of adjustment—as much for students as for parents. To help our families navigate these changes, our Middle School counselor leads book discussions and talks about developmental stages in middle school and what to expect for parents throughout the year. We even offer a Parent Technology Advisory Group.
Upper School: A boundless amount of parent education time in the Upper School is spent on College Guidance. Beginning early in their child's fresman year, parents are invited to attend a variety of college education seminars to learn more about application process, scholarships and financial aid.
