Early Childhood and Kindergarten

Applying to GDS should be exciting and easy! Please follow these simple steps to start your process.

There are two ways to submit an application. Please pick the method easiest for you.

Online: Online applications are powered by Infosnap and you will need to create a username and password. When the application is complete, hit the submit button. You will receive a confirmation email from Infosnap and a phone call from a GDS admission staff member to confirm receipt.

In Person: You are welcome to come by the office to complete your admission application in person.

After the application has been submitted, the following steps may happen in any order:

After December 1, ask your child's current teacher to fill out the appropriate Information Form and return it directly to our Admissions Office.

Kindergarten Teacher Information Form

GDS may contact your child's current preschool or childcare program to set-up a time to visit your child in his/her current, familiar environment. A family may also request this visit if they feel it would be beneficial and necessary to the application process.

Parents/Guardians of all applicants are required to fill out the following form and return it directly to the Admission Office.

Early Childhood and Kindergarten Parent Questionnaire

Application fees must be received prior to screenings and play dates being scheduled.

Early Childhood applicants:  This informal play date will provide our Early Childhood team the opportunity to meet your child and interact with them in a small group setting with other applicants.  Additional screenings may apply. Please note that admission to Early Childhood does not roll over to Kindergarten. All Early Childhood students will be required to take the Kindergarten screening.

Play dates are scheduled by appointment. The dates are January 7, 2017, January 21, 2017 and February 4, 2017.

Kindergarten applicants:  Screenings are administered in a one-to-one format with a trained teacher. These screenings are neither diagnostic or an IQ test. While your child receives one-to-one attention, you will have the opportunity to interact with other rising Kindergarten parents, current parents, as well as Lower School teachers and administrators.

Screenings are scheduled by appointment. The screening dates are January 7, 2017, January 21, 2017 and February 4, 2017.

Parents are encouraged to review their child's screening with a member of our Lower School administrative team.  Parents may call the Lower School office to schedule an appointment after your admission notification.
