Track and Field - Anyone interested in running Track during the Spring season should strongly consider running Cross Country in the Fall if you are not already playing a Fall sport at GDS. You are also welcome to join the Cross Country team for summer conditioning in July and August before school starts. Pre-season practice for Track begins the first Monday in February if you are not playing a Winter sport.

Girls Soccer - Playing club soccer in the fall is highly recommended.  The team will have workouts once the 2nd semester begins, approximately 2 times a week until the start of the season (late Feb).

Baseball – There will be a summer baseball team for the varsity level which will be combined with other area high school teams in the Palomino league and we expect our players to attend as many games as possible.  It is also very important to be involved in baseball activities in the off season such as lessons, travel teams, showcase teams, private lessons, etc.  If you are interested there are many places that provide these things at the North Carolina Baseball Academy, Prolific Park, and Greensboro Batting Center.

These dates are tentative but usually baseball tryouts are the second week in February, 8 man workouts start the first week in February, and pitchers and catchers start he first week in January.
