Greensboro Day School has one of the longest running 1:1 (one laptop per child) programs in the nation.  Since 1999, our students in grades 6-12 have been using laptops as an integral part of the curriculum. Our program has proven effective in not only preparing GDS students for the 21st century but has led to significant improvements in student writing and more effective communication and research skills. 

Exposure to state-of-the-art technology begins in our Lower School where students are initially introduced to art programs and word processing before maturing into advanced topics such as presentation programs, internet research and appropriate e-mail use.   Each campus facility is wirelessly connected to our secure network, allowing all students, faculty and staff (over 1,000 computers) to safely learn, explore, create and communicate in our digital global society.
