All Greensboro Day School facility and venue rentals include a fee for security and cleaning, and a capital replacement fee is applied to any event using GDS furniture or equipment to cover the cost of maintaining and repairing those items. To ensure the safety and security of our school, a Greensboro Police Officer must be present during all events with more than 50 guests. Events requiring extensive setup will be charged an additional fee (as determined by our facility directors).
Davison Center for the Arts rentals requiring production assistance such as a technical director and/or stage manager will include additional labor charges depending on the number of technicians required for each event, rehearsal, and/or set-up time. The Center for the Arts management will determine the appropriate labor support needed per event.
The following are available at no extra cost for the Sloan Theatre, provided that the request is made in writing no later than 10 days prior to the event (labor not included):
- Basic stage lighting (one scene)
- Basic curtains and draperies (main drape, legs, mid stage traveler)
- Up to 50 padded orchestra chairs
- Two standard, wired microphones with stands
- Podium with microphone
- Two folding tables
- Basic sound system (does not include operator)
- Basic stage communication system
- Backstage paging and monitor system
- Video projector and screen
All lighting, audio, and other production equipment is coordinated by special arrangement with the Center for the Arts’ technical director and/or production manager.
