Since Greensboro Day School’s opening in 1970, it has been the school’s intention to be a welcoming place to the entire community. Our student body represents many of the different ethnic groups within the Triad and cultures from around the world, and they, along with our faculty, provide an engaging and safe environment for students to learn, explore, and grow.
It’s hard to pick out even one or two highlights of the student experience at GDS. From our award-winning fine and performing arts programs and championship athletic teams, to academic programs that prepare students to enter the most prestigious colleges and universities, Greensboro Day School has it all. No matter what interests a student may have, there is more than likely a club or activity that he or she will feel comfortable joining. Our students are known for their abilities in public speaking, problem-solving, debate, community service, and leadership.
What unites us is a deep commitment to our core values of wisdom, community, and respect. Wisdom, through our academic programs; Community through our commitment to service; and Respect through our deeply held adherence to an honor code. Greensboro Day School is a place where students can feel that they are respected, held to a high academic standard, and bound to an honor code that supports them in ethical decision-making.
I invite you to peruse our website, talk with our faculty and students, and take the time to visit the place that I have the pleasure to enjoy each and every day.
