Middle School Science Olympiad A Finishes First in Region

The Greensboro Day School Middle School Science Olympiad A Team earned a first-place finish in the Guilford County Science Olympiad Regional Tournament on April 25. The competition was hosted by Greensboro Day School and took place in The Center. 

Despite being one of the smallest teams in the competition, GDS medaled in 13 of the 15 events. Every GDS student who participated earned at least 1 medal. 

“I am so proud of their dedication,” said Science Olympiad A coach Karl Leonhardt. “While I had confidence that our students worked hard enough to succeed, there was no way to predict the level of success we would have against many of the teams who dominated last year at the Alamance competition.”
