Nurturing Independence

“I want to do it myself!” Every parent of young children has heard these words countless times, and the quest for independence is an essential part of the preschool years. As our young Bengals strive for independence, they are supported by caring teachers who are there to help them learn to persevere, overcome challenges, and experience the joy of doing things for themselves. Our young students learn that they are surrounded by teachers who know and love them and that school is a safe place where they can take risks and try new things.

Our preschool teachers are part of an entire ecosystem that nurtures and supports every student at GDS.

Purposeful Play

Our preschool program keeps children active and engaged in purposeful and meaningful play. Children may seem to be “just playing,” but play at GDS is intentionally designed to promote the development of fine motor skills, dexterity, and problem solving—all while having fun!

Our classroom spaces are thoughtfully designed to include various types of lighting and seating, child-created artwork, and age-appropriate manipulatives. There are well-defined centers, room for safe and active movement, and quiet spaces for rest.

Preschool students also spend time outside every day on a playground designed specifically for young children and their physical development.

Junior Kindergarten (four- and five-year-olds)

After School Care

Bengal Cub Club offers after school care for families until 6 p.m. in a safe, supportive environment.
