After submitting the application, you will receive further information about the following steps.

Step 2 - Teacher and Parent Information Forms

No one knows your child like you do! To help us better serve your child and family, parents will be asked to complete a Parent Questionnaire and return it to the Admission Office.

Your child's current teacher (virtual or face-to-face) will be asked to complete a Teacher Information Form and send it to your Admission Counselor. It is the family's responsibility to give this form to their child's current teacher/school.

Step 3 - Admission Testing

All applicants to grades 1-4 are required to take an age-appropriate admission screening. These one-on-one screenings will be done virtually for the 2021-2022 school year.

Step 4 - Report Cards

After December 1, parents will need to provide copies of the applicant's current report card and from the two previous years (if applicable). These should include any standardized testing scores.

We do not request official transcript copies until a student formally enrolls at Greensboro Day School.

Notification Dates

Applications for all grades are accepted throughout the year if there is space available. Initial decisions for completed applications are made at the first of February, and continue throughout the spring and summer on a rolling basis. Once all parts of the admission process are complete, families can typically expect a decision within 2 weeks. Admission decisions are made separately from decisions about need-based financial assistance.
Greensboro Day School develops the intellectual, ethical, and interpersonal foundations students need to become constructive contributors to the world.
