We have created a series of videos that will help parents/guardians and students learn more about what to expect as they move into a new grade level. We currently have move-up videos for Bengal Tots (2-year-olds) through fifth grade.

The School Day

Carpool begins at 7:45 a.m.
The school day runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Administrative offices are open between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday–Friday when school is in session.
After school programs run until 6 p.m.

Summer Hours

During the summer, administrative offices are open Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Summer Camps begin on June 2. Summer Camp hours are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Summer Camps Morning & Afternoon Care hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30–9 a.m. and 2–6 p.m.
Summer Camps and the GDS campus are closed Thursday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday, and June 30–July 4 in observance of the July 4 holiday.

Visiting Campus

All visitors who come to campus on school days between 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. must check in with their driver’s license at the reception desk at the Helen Monroe Preschool. Visitors will complete a short screening process that includes a check against national sex offender databases. Once that check is complete, visitors will receive a badge with their photo and the current date, which must be worn while they are on campus. Please note that this procedure will not be used to screen visitors for high‐volume public functions such as Grandparents Day, honors ceremonies, and all-school programs.

PawPrints

During the school year, GDS families will receive our weekly email newsletter, PawPrints. The newsletter contains a mix of news and announcements as well as calendar reminders for the coming week and weekly messages from division directors. This is our primary way of communicating with families, so be sure to take a look each week. The most current issues are linked below.
