MAD Society

Whether your student loves being center stage in the school musical, spends their time at the pottery wheel or behind an easel, or hones their skills on strings or brass instruments, being a part of the MAD Society enhances and enriches your child’s artistic experience.

Who We Are

The MAD Society (Music, Art, Drama) is a parent-led group that provides support for all of the visual and performing arts at GDS. It is comprised of current parents, alumni, and families of former arts students. Parents can join the MAD Society at any time, but joining when your student is in Lower School and just beginning their arts journey is the best way to get the most benefit from your MAD membership. As your child grows and progresses through the middle and upper school arts programs, benefits of membership increase.

What We Do

By supporting the MAD Society, you are helping to provide funding and support to:

Performing arts events, receptions, and the Senior Arts Luncheon
Professional artistic guest master classes and workshops
Ongoing maintenance and improvement of costume and prop areas
Faculty and student enrichment
Transportation for students for local arts workshops and other programs
Improvements to fine arts classrooms

Forever MAD ($1,000 Lifetime Membership)

Best deal for families with younger students!

Forever MAD members will receive two free theatre tickets for each middle and upper school Sloan theatre production (for life), two magnets, acknowledgment in the theatre programs and on the MAD webpage for $1,000. This level also includes a canvas tote bag with the embroidered MAD Society logo, and a large tumbler with a laser-engraved MAD logo.
