There are more than 100 miles of trails and greenways in Greensboro, including garden trails, paved greenways, hiking and mountain biking trails, and three lakes perfect for kayaking, rowing, paddle boarding, or fishing.

Greensboro is full of gardens, parks, and other green spaces. These are some of our favorites:

• Bur-Mil Park: This 250-acre park is adjacent to Lake Brandt.
• Country Park: This park features walking, hiking, and biking trails surrounding a pair of lakes, as well as a dog park, playgrounds and paddle boats.
• Greensboro Arboretum: This 17-acre site features numerous plant collections and special display gardens.
• Guilford Courthouse Military Park: This park, featuring walking and hiking trails as well as historical markers, is located on the site of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, where General Nathaniel Greene, namesake of the city, helped turn the tide of the Revolutionary War.
• Keeley Park: Features a sprayground, disc golf course, and community garden.
• LeBauer and City Center Park: These two adjacent parks form a five-acre green space in the heart of downtown and at the center of the city’s arts and culture district.
• Price Park: This park features walking trails as well as a butterfly garden and meadowlark sanctuary.
• Tanger Bicentennial Park and The Bog Garden at Benjamin Park: These adjoining parks offer a variety of landscapes. The Bicentennial Park is a popular and relaxing retreat known for its annual plantings and sculpture collection. The wooded Bog Garden features an elevated boardwalk wandering through natural wetlands that are home to many varieties of birds and other wildlife.

• Take a walk along Elm Street downtown and you’ll encounter a wide variety of local stores, restaurants, and bars.
• State Street Station hosts 30 unique shops, galleries, restaurants, and boutiques housed in refurbished 1920s vintage buildings.
• Greensboro offer two farmers markets: The Curb Market and The Corner Farmers Market. Both offer an abundance of local produce as well as artisanal foods and products.

• Elsewhere is a former thrift store turned eccentric museum, artist collective, and collaborative learning laboratory.
• The GreenHill Center for North Carolina Art is located inside the Greensboro Cultural Center and hosts special exhibitions by North Carolina artists as well as a shop featuring jewelry, pottery, and gifts created by local artists. GDS was proud to partner with GreenHill in 2022 on their H₂O exhibit.
• The Miriam P. Brenner Children's Museum inspires hands-on learning through play via 20 interactive exhibits in a fun, energetic, and safe environment for all ages.
• The Greensboro History Museum showcases the city's diverse history through exhibits and educational progams.
• The International Civil Rights Center & Museum recognizes Greensboro’s importance in the Civil Rights Movement. In 1960, four students from North Carolina A&T State University sat at the segregated lunch counter at Woolworth’s and refused to leave after being denied service. Their actions inspired sit-ins and protests across the country. Today, the historic Woolworth’s building downtown is home to this museum.
• The Greensboro Science Center features an aquarium, museum, and zoo, as well as the Skywild ropes course and the Monarch Conservation Center and Butterfly House.
• The Weatherspoon Art Museum at the University of North Carolina Greensboro is home to one of the largest collections of modern and contemporary art in the southeast, with a focus on American art.
