  • Late Registrations and Refunds

    during which parents can still register students for the course. During the grace period, parents may also withdraw students from the class or ask for a student to be switched to a different class.
     
    Registration for classes will close one week after classes begin, and all payments will be final and non-refundable at this point, except in the case of serious extenuating health or family concerns. 
  • Private Music Lessons

    We offer private piano, guitar, and ukulele lessons for grades 1-12. Spaces are limited, and the registration process is different from our group after-school classes. Please contact the instructor for information about availability, schedule, and pricing:
     

    Mrs. Elizabeth Mosher comes to GDS with more than 28 years of teaching and performance experience. She holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education from UNCG, and has served at John Wesley University, Wesleyan Christian Academy, Guilford County Schools, and Lawndale Fine Arts and Music Academy. She has also served as Director of Music in multiple NC churches. Mrs. Mosher performs on both piano and flute, and loves teaching beginner to advanced levels. She resides with her husband Cliff in Greensboro.

    Guitar and Ukulele: Doug Baker

    Doug Baker studied Music Education at UNC Greensboro. He has a background as an elementary music specialist, and offers private lessons at the Music Center at City Arts and Greensboro Day School. 
  • Artistic Motion Dance Classes

    Artistic Motion offers dance programs at Greensboro Day School for ages 3 through adult. Please see their website for schedules and registration information.

After-School Care and Clubs

  • Bengal Cub Club

    Bengal Cub Club, GDS' after-school care, is for Lower School students who need care from the time school is out until 6 p.m. BCC is also open during teacher workdays, teacher conference days and some school vacations.

    The BCC staff includes teachers and a director who serve two groups of students, Early Childhood - 1st grade and grades 2-4. Special consideration is given to children in the Early Childhood program (Bitty Bengals and Junior Kindergarten) to ensure their success in an extended day program. Some children may require modified schedules or a trial period. Early Childhood families must contact the Director of BCC to arrange for this process. 
    • Our youngest Bengals enjoy centers, enrichment lessons, technology, crafts, movies, recreation time, and field trips.
    • Older Bengals have supervised homework and study time, as well as, free play, movies, technology, and field trips.
    Children need to bring an afternoon snack and water bottle to BCC. During full-day operations, a morning snack and lunch will also need to be provided.

    A student can attend for as little as one afternoon a week to a full five afternoons in a week. Students must have an enrollment form on file in order to attend BCC.

    Regular afternoon

    $8 (3-4:30 p.m.)
    $8 (4:30-6 p.m.)
    Siblings in attendance will be half price.

    Long day

    7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. ($45)
    Siblings in attendance will be half price.
    Separate field trip expenses may apply.

    $1/minute after 6 p.m., late fee.

    Bengal Cub Club is an integral part of the Greensboro Day School experience and helps to meet the needs of many of our families. To enroll in BCC please complete and submit the BCC Enrollment form. If you have any questions, please contact Yasten Burton, BCC Director.
  • Grades 5 - 8 After-School Program

    5th and 6th Grade After-School Program

    Who: 5th & 6th graders needing a place to stay after school
    When: Mon - Fri; 3:05 - 6 p.m.
    What: Start with free play and then work on homework
    Where: 5th and 6th grade commons in the Middle School
    Enroll: by contacting Middle School Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Kirkman-Hall
    Cost:  
    $8 (3-4:30 p.m.)
    $8 (4:30-6 p.m.)
    Siblings in attendance will be half price.

    7th and 8th Grade After-School in the Middle School

    Who: 7th & 8th graders needing a place to stay after school
    When: Mon - Fri; 3:05 - 6 p.m.
    What:  A quiet space for homework and studying
    Where: MS/US Media Center
    There is no cost associated with this service.
