CTK Cooking Competition a Success!

The Blazing Bengals, led by Liz Manning, Director of Dining Services had an amazing experience in the CTK Cooking Competition. The GDS team comprised of 8th graders Andrew Just, Mae Moody, Cole Percival, Kate Wingate, and Adair Wood represented our school well in the competition against Wesleyan Christian Academy, Summit School, and Forsyth Country Day School.

Chef Jet Tila of the Food Network served as the emcee of the evening, entertaining the crowd and providing behind the scenes information about cooking shows, and helping the young chefs prepare their dishes for judging.
The Blazing Bengals endured a sabotage of a Minute Rice substitution and ultimately prepared two beautiful and delicious dishes. They received high praise for their pineapple fried rice and chicken alfredo.
Wesleyan was ultimately declared the CTK Cooking Competition winner. Through donations accepted at the door and a match by FLIK Independent School Dining, a donation of $2,000 was made to Open Door Ministries.

The evening also included an opening reception performance by the Upper School Orchestra and delicious refreshments provided by FLIK. Thank you to all involved for making this an entertaining and fun event for Greensboro Day School and surrounding schools.
Greensboro Day School develops the intellectual, ethical, and interpersonal foundations students need to become constructive contributors to the world.
