Carla D. Dowler Award 2020

During the Lower School Closing Ceremony on Tuesday, May 26, Mrs. Jill Hare, Lower School Music Specialist was honored as the 2020 Carla D. Dowler Award recipient.
Each year, the Lower School honors a member of the Greensboro Day School community with the Carla D. Dowler Award. This award was established to honor someone who touches Lower School students’ lives and fits the following criteria: values kindness and sensitivity to others; reflects a determination to succeed; exemplifies a love for learning; and embodies an abiding respect for teaching and being with children.
Mrs. Hare is known for her calm and soothing presence, as a teacher who seeks to ensure all students feel represented, loved, and accepted, along with being an incredibly talented musician and educator. 
Mrs. Hare is married to her husband Greg and they have two daughters, Evelyn and Lydia.
