GDS Meal Plan Options
Grades BB-2 make their lunch selections from the monthly menu that you will receive via e-mail.
There are three daily options on each menu, including the hot meal deal, entrée garden salad, and deli-style lunch
All meals come with desserts. Beverages (milk, juice, water) are purchased separately from the Lower School office. Completed menus are submitted with payment to your child’s homeroom teacher, Kathy Goodkin, Lower School Administrative Assistant, or the Bengal Café. Meals are delivered to the classroom. Cost per meal is $4.00. Please make a copy of your menu for your records. At this time, BB-3 parents can’t manage Bengal Café accounts via MySchoolBucks.
There are four meal deal options for grade 4. The Hot Meal Deal is an economical option which includes an entrée, starch and vegetable. The Deli Meal Deal includes a 1/2 sandwich of your choice and a small soup or salad. The Garden Salad Meal Deal includes a custom salad prepared from the fresh daily salad bar. The Bagel Meal Deal includes a Bagel cream cheese/yogurt fruit or vegetable.
All meal deals include a dessert and small milk, juice or fountain water. The meal deal value price is $4.65.
Students in grades 3-4 may not purchase a la carte items.
Several different meal deal $4.65 options are available each day. The Daily Entrée Meal Deal includes an entrée item, a choice of a vegetable and a starch. The Deli Meal Deal allows diners to select 2 of the following: small soup, small salad or 1/2 sandwich (no duplication).
All meal deals come with a dessert, fountain beverage, or small milk.
A la carte purchases are available to 6th-12th grade students. A la carte selections might include homemade pizza, burgers, fries, fresh fruit cup, homemade soup, salad bar, chefs specials and assorted beverages.
How do I pay for lunch?
Students pay for Bengal Café purchases using a debit accounting system. When checking out, students must type in their student PIN number on the cashiers keypad. Purchases are automatically deducted from the available balance in the student’s Bengal Café account.
You can add money to your child’s Bengal Café account in four ways:
- Send in a check with your BB-3rd grade student to his or her teacher. BB-3rd students should include menu selections with their check.
- Send in a check with your 4th-12th grade student to give to the cashier in the Bengal Café.
- Drop off a check at the front office for delivery to the Flik mailbox.
- Pay online by credit card through the MySchoolBucks online account (please note that a fee will be charged). REMINDER: This option is not available to BB-3rd grade students.
Please remember that you may request a report of your child's purchases from the Bengal Café or My School Bucks at any time. Please contact Liz Manning at extension 277.
