At Greensboro Day School, we believe music is an essential part of a well-rounded education. Students learn about singing, rhythm and movement, performing, creativity, improvisation, teamwork, problem-solving, and much more.

The Music Department at Greensboro Day School offers a wide range of musical opportunities from Pre-K through the twelfth grade. Lower School students receive general music instruction two or three days per week, and may also take Suzuki violin or cello instruction as an option. All middle school students participate in a musical ensemble, choosing between band, strings or chorus. Upper School students may participate in a wide range of musical ensembles, including chorus, concert band, jazz band, pep band, orchestra or chamber music. Music Explorations is offered as an option for students who want to learn more about music, but prefer not to join an ensemble.
