Bengal Relay Teams Earn Championships at State Swim Meet
The Bengal swim team had a great state meet on February 11, with two girls relay teams winning state championships. The girls team placed third overall–an impressive feat with only seven swimmers. The boys team placed third, improving from their eighth place finish last year.
The girls 200 medley relay team (Reece Ramseur, Mary Sellers Payne, Riley Ramseur, and Madi Jones) and the 200 free relay team (Katie Wile, Reece Ramseur, Madi Jones, and Riley Ramseur) swam their way to state championships. Riley Ramseur broke GDS school records in the 100 free and 200 free.
- The boys 200 medley relay (CheChe Zhang, Peyton Splawski, Kenji Kobi-Jackson, and Hudson Sharpe) placed second.
- Reece Ramseur placed 2nd in the 100 fly and 100 back.
- Katie Wile placed 3rd in the 100 fly.
- Peyton Splawski placed 3rd in the 100 breaststroke.
