Dana Wilson ’25 Named Gatorade Girls Track Player of the Year

Recent graduate Dana Wilson ’25 has been named the Gatorade Girls Track Player of the Year—becoming the third Greensboro Day School athlete to earn this prestigious national honor.

A University of Tennessee signee, Dana ended her senior season as the fastest high school sprinter in the country, clocking 11.02 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.21 in the 200. Those times place her fifth all-time in the 100 and second all-time in the 200.

She capped her Bengals career with four NCISAA state championships—100, 200, 4x100 relay, and 4x200 relay—bringing her total to 11 career state titles. Her time of 22.83 in the 200-meter preliminaries also set a new school record, along with records in each of the other three events.

In recognition of these incredible achievements, Dana’s jersey was officially retired during the Senior Convocation ceremony.

In June 2025, she won the 100 meters at the USATF U20 Championships (11.14) and the 200 meters at Nike Outdoor Nationals (22.71), both held at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field.

Dana joins Sarah Pickens (1998, girls soccer) and Jonathan Campbell (2011, boys soccer) as Greensboro Day School’s other Gatorade Players of the Year.
