GDS Alumnus Leads Teens United Session

On October 10, Greensboro Day School hosted the latest meeting of Teens United, a United Way of Greater Greensboro initiative that helps high school students explore leadership, philanthropy, and community engagement.

Guest speaker Bill Morrisette ’75, president and CEO of Morrisette Packaging, spoke with students about why he, his family, and his company have been longtime supporters of United Way of Greater Greensboro. Mr. Morrisette, a GDS graduate and former member of the GDS Board of Trustees, discussed the importance of giving back and the role organizations like United Way play in strengthening the community.

Mr. Morrisette and his wife, Allison, have both served on the GDS Board of Trustees, and Mrs. Morisette also served as president of the GDS Parents Association. Their children, John Morrisette ’13 and Morgan Morrisette Hood ’09, are GDS alumni, and their grandchildren, Kate Hood ’39 and Parker Hood ’38, are current students.

The session continued Teens United’s focus on learning from community leaders who model civic engagement and demonstrate how philanthropy and service can make a lasting difference.
