Greensboro Day School has become the first independent school in North Carolina to earn the Family Forward NC Certification, awarded by the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation.
The mission of Family Forward NC is to engage, support, and promote employers of all sizes and sectors in adopting family-friendly policies that enhance the health and well-being of employees, while also delivering direct business benefits. The certification is awarded to employers demonstrating exemplary practices in one or more of five critical areas of employee well-being.
Employers seeking to join the Family Forward NC Certified Employer program are evaluated by 19 employee benefits with the following categories:
- paid leave and competitive wages;
- accommodations for pregnant and breastfeeding workers;
- child care support;
- health and wellness benefits; and
- flexible scheduling practices.
