Congratulations to Jeff Bradsher, who has been named Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer at Greensboro Day School.
In this new role, Jeff will continue the inclusion and belonging work previously led by Dr. Ayesha Swinton, who joined Guilford College this summer as Director of the Office of Transformation and Inclusion. We are happy to report that Ayesha will remain connected to GDS in the coming year as our Diversity Coach in Residence and will work with Jeff as he transitions into his new role.
As Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer, Jeff will support the school’s priority to be a diverse community of inclusion and belonging and will provide strategic leadership in cultivating a community that shares ideas, discovers diverse perspectives, builds cultural competence, fosters inclusion and belonging, and further develops our view of the world. Jeff’s prior experience as the school’s Director of Student Community provided a natural springboard into this new role, which focuses on building a community of inclusion and belonging for all GDS stakeholders.
We would also like to thank Dr. Ayesha Swinton for her leadership at GDS and to congratulate her on her new position, which allows her to fulfill her aspiration of working in higher education in a hybrid, more flexible schedule. Ayesha first joined Greensboro Day School in 2012 as an upper school Spanish teacher. In addition to serving as the National Honor Society Advisor for five years, she founded the Student Diversity Leadership Council (SDLC) and served as its advisor for nine years. She has also led numerous domestic and international trips. Her involvement in diversity initiatives at GDS led to her appointment as Director of Diversity & Belonging in 2020. Since then, she has been instrumental in fostering a community of belonging at GDS and in creating programming that celebrates the diversity of our community. We congratulate Dr. Swinton on her next chapter and thank her for the impact she has made on our community as an inspirational leader.
