Greensboro Day School Names Dean of Campus Life

Greensboro Day School is pleased to announce that Roderick Fludd will join our community as Dean of Campus Life beginning July 1, 2025.

Roderick has nearly 25 years of experience teaching, coaching, advising, and leading in independent schools. He is currently serving in a leadership role at Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg, Florida, a PK–12 independent school with an enrollment of more than 1,000 students, where he has worked for eight years as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion. Prior to his role at Shorecrest Preparatory School, Roderick spent 10 years at Greenwich Country Day School in Connecticut, serving in a variety of teaching and leadership roles, including math teacher and Mathematics Department Chair.

Roderick earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from South Carolina State University and a Master’s of Educational Studies from Manhattanville University. Roderick’s colleagues and supervisor describe him as a skillful collaborator, a strong relationship-builder, and a positive presence across campus. GDS students who interviewed Roderick said he was easy to talk to and extremely kind.

In his free time, Roderick enjoys collecting bow ties, listening to audiobooks, playing golf, and cheering on the LA Dodgers and Cleveland Cavaliers. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Roderick is excited to return to the Carolinas to be closer to his family. Later this summer, Roderick will be relocating to Greensboro with his wife, Sara, and their two dogs, Mabel and Cami.
