Lower School Holds Community Cornerstone Pledge Ceremony

Lower School Holds Community Cornerstone Pledge Ceremony

On November 22, 2024, students in the Lower School joined their peers in the Middle and Upper Schools by holding their own Community Cornerstone Pledge Ceremony.

Co-created by students, faculty, staff, and families, the GDS Community Cornerstones of Respect, Kindness, Integrity, and Responsibility embody the shared values that guide our character and citizenship expectations for GDS students, employees, and families.

Students in grades K–4 signed an age-appropriate version of the pledge:

I Pledge To

  • Treat others with kindness and respect
  • Be an upstander: refuse to ignore, laugh, watch, or join in when others are unkind
  • Do my best to help my peers and others feel safe, welcome, and included
  • Use my words to solve problems
  • Take responsibility for my actions

I will do my best to honor this pledge wherever I am.
