Our 2023–24 McLendon Speaker Series wrapped up on February 27 with a presentation by Nina Kumar on the mental health issues affecting young people in high-performing schools.
Ms. Nina Kumar is the co-founder and CEO of Authentic Connections, which has collected survey data about student well-being from more than 100,000 student respondents nationwide. Ms. Kumar’s presentation focused on national trends in youth well-being and identified factors, such as high academic pressure, that contribute to mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety.
