Moot Court Team Qualifies for Nationals

The Moot Court team of Jules Voorhoeve ’24 and Sophia Haarlow ’24 are 1 of 42 teams from across the U.S. to qualify for the Moot Court National Competition.

They will be competing via Zoom on April 27 in 3 qualifying rounds and hope to move on to the single elimination round on Sunday, April 28. They will be judged by current law students from Duke, Yale, UC Santa Barbara, and the University of Chicago.

Moot Court involves a simulated oral argument in front of the Supreme Court. All teams were given an extensive hypothetical fact pattern and a library of Supreme Court and Circuit Court cases. Participants are required to argue both sides of the case and their arguments can be interrupted at any time by a panel of 2–5 judges.
