Science Olympiad Team Medals in Three Events
Eleven fifth graders competed in the regional Science Olympiad Tournament at Alamance Community College on April 5, with the team earning medals in three events.
- Harrison Stewart and Aarav Gopinath finished in second place in Data Crunchers,
- Alex Mazzarella and Elise Costea finished in second place for Duct Tape Challenge, and
- Will Herr and Meagan Lis finished in third place for Backyard Biologist.
Students spent the year working to master the scientific information and engineering skills needed to compete in 15 events. All of the participants gained valuable experience that will prepare them for continued success in competition next year.
