Seniors Celebrate College Pennant Day
On April 10, the GDS College Counseling team hosted the annual senior tradition of unveiling the College Pennant Wall outside their office.
Seniors were cheered on by faculty and staff as they entered the Upper School and made their way to the College Counseling Office. Director of College Counseling Keeon Gregory made some short remarks celebrating the Class of 2025 before unveiling the Pennant Wall, which recognizes each senior and their college destination.
After the unveiling, seniors stuck around to take pictures and celebrate the conclusion of their college search.
Here are some quick facts about college matriculation for the Class of 2025:
- 72 seniors in the Class of 2025 submitted 473 applications to 153 different colleges and universities.
- The Class of 2025 will matriculate to 40 different colleges in 19 different states and one other country.
- 45 seniors will attend public universities, while 27 will attend private colleges or universities.
- 33 seniors will matriculate to 11 different colleges in North Carolina, while 39 will matriculate to 29 different colleges out of state (including 1 abroad).
