Student Artwork Recognized by Scholastic Art Awards

Three pieces created by upper school visual arts students have been recognized at the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards regional competition.

Congratulations to

  • Ella Erickson ’27, who earned won a Gold Key for her painting Mellowed Catharsis (first picture below) and a Silver Key for her drawing on scratchboard, Busywork Inversion. (second picture below).
  • Ledger Aiello-Perrell ’26, who earned a Silver Key for his mixed media piece, The Hands that Made Me (third picture below).

Submissions are reviewed by a panel of creative professionals who recognize pieces based on outstanding merit in originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice.

Gold and Silver Key winners will be included in the Regional Exhibition, March 1–April 19, at the Mint Museum Uptown in Charlotte.
