Students Take the Lead in Celebrating Women’s History

March is Women’s History Month, and members of Girls 4 Girls and the Empower Play Club have taken the lead by educating our community about women in sports.

The groups planned a social media campaign featuring well-known athletes from Greensboro Day School and beyond. They also planned activities for students too young to use social media.

Middle school students took a gallery walk to learn about various athletes and their accomplishments, while lower school students participated in a variety of sports challenges. In the Upper School, students participated in a game show to test their knowledge and also heard from GDS graduate and standout soccer player Sarah Pickens ’98, who currently serves as the Vice President of Programs for the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
