Technical Theatre Students Step Behind the Scenes at Tanger Center
Twenty middle and upper school technical theatre students attended School Day at the Tanger Center on October 13, an event designed to give local theatre students an inside look at the workings of a professional performing arts venue.
Students toured the Tanger Center, going behind the curtain to learn about lighting, sound, stage management, marketing, and other essential elements of producing a live show.
The immersive experience helped students see how many different skills and people are required to bring a performance to life and underscored the importance of every role, both onstage and backstage. It was an inspiring, hands-on experience that deepened students’ appreciation for the art, collaboration, and craft of live theatre.
