TEDx GDS Youth Explores Facets of Diversity

On October 21, Greensboro Day School hosted its first-ever TEDx event. TEDx GDS Youth explored the topic of Embracing Diversity from a variety of perspectives.

The lineup of speakers included GDS upper school students Katie Gunther ’27, Hailey Nixon ’26, and Grace Whittaker ’26; several students from other local schools; Interim Director of Inclusion & Belonging Katelyn Williams; NC A&T professor (and former GDS faculty) Dr. Ayesha Swinton; and Duke University professor Dr. Aaron Colston.

TEDx GDS Youth was developed and organized by GDS upper school students, with support from the upper school faculty and administration. Congratulations to Audrey Fang ’26, Helen He ’25, Yarina Hasiu ’26, and Isabella Thongteum ’25 for all of their work over the last year in creating this outstanding community event.
