Upper School Offers a Fresh Perspective on ‘The Matchmaker’
Congratulations to the cast and crew of The Matchmaker on their charming and witty production, which added some new twists to this classic Thornton Wilder farce.
The show, which ran over March 30–April 2 in the Bell Family Studio Theatre, offered inventive staging as well as a fresh perspective on the gender expectations that play such an important part in the play. The idea to reverse the gender of the characters in the original play was conceived by Annika Rogers ’23 and offered some truly hilarious moments as well as the opportunity to reflect on our own expectations.
