Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Freddy Johnson Makes List of Greatest High School Sports Coaches
High school sports website MaxPreps has developed a list of the 100 greatest high school sports coaches of all time, and our own Director of Basketball Operations and Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Freddy Johnson is #32!
Coach Johnson has served as the head coach of the varsity boys basketball team since 1977. Under his leadership, the Bengals have advanced to the state championship title game 21 times in the last 36 seasons, capturing the championship trophy 12 times in the program’s history. Coach Johnson is currently the winningest coach in North Carolina history, with an overall record of 1,190–328.
