Student Artwork Recognized by Scholastic Art Awards

Two pieces created by upper school visual arts students have been recognized at the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards regional competition.

Congratulations to Camille Pool ’24, who won a Gold Key for her piece, Carved Ceramic Bubble Vase (above). Camille’s piece will advance to the national competition.

Congratulations also to Sophia Haarlow ’24, who won a Silver Key for her mixed media installation, Word Vomit (below).

GDS joined the Mid-Carolina region of the Scholastic Art Awards a few years ago. This is a highly competitive region that includes 27 counties in North and South Carolina.
